[Concerning the rank of the Saints, the Esotericist, the feeling of Security and Despair, the diviner, the Non-Existent, and prayers for the dead]

وَلَا يَبْلُغُ وَلِيٌّ دَرَجَةَ الأَنْبِيَاءِ أَصْلاً، وَلَا يَصِلُ الْعَبْدُ إِلَى حَيْثُ يَسْقُطُ عَنْهُ الأَمْرُ وَالنَّهْيُ.

043- In priniciple a saint will not attain the rank of the prophets (nabī). And a person (ʿabd) will never arrive at [a state] where [all] commands and prohibitions¹  [of Islamic law] do not apply.

1. This refers to Islamic law, legal ruling of fiqh and sharīʿah like the five obligatory prayers, the paying of alms, the fast of Ramadan, the pilgrimage, jihad, law of inheritance, divorce, lying, stealing, cheating, and basic decency.
